Urge a reform for American citizens to protect themselves from law enforcement officials who abuse their power.

Created by E.R. on June 15, 2014

The purpose of this petition is for Washington DC to debate whether or not it should be legal for citizens to use deadly firearm force against law enforcement officers who try to make unlawful entrances into their homes or feel that other people are in danger due to police brutality.

In 1992, a man by name of Rodney King was brutally beaten by four police officers whom were later acquitted. After their acquittal on April 29, 1992, the LA Riots broke havoc in South Central Los Angeles, leaving more than 50 dead, over 2000 injured and over $1 Billion in damages. Had this law been implemented, citizens may have acted and we probably wouldn’t have seen such catastrophe, rather just dead or injured police officers.

Officers will think twice before overstepping their authority.
