The Declaration of Independence says it all in reference to the Equal Rights Amendment.
"...We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness..."
Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness is certainly not a static state of existence, but an ever evolving search for the lack of such in our existence.
Let no one person be left behind, if we all cannot be free, then freedom is nothing more than an illusion we willfully deceive ourselves with.
