The Budget Accounting Act requires the House of Representatives and the Senate to each pass a budget resolution. The Senate has not passed a budget resolution since 2009 and the current Democratic leadership has hinted that they might not pass one during the upcoming Congress.
We petition you to use your authority as the leader of the Democratic party and your bully pulpit to publicly and privately call upon the senate leadership to act responsibly and to pass a budget resolution each year during your term as president.
