urge the Senate to remove the language threatening commercial space flight in the NASA budget.

Created by J.R. on June 06, 2014

Remove the language from the U.S. Senate’s Appropriations Committee fiscal year 2015 Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies Appropriations Bill introduced by Sen. Richard Shelby that directs "NASA to maintain FAR 15.403-4, related to the certified cost and pricing data for prime contractors, for any contracts entered into support the development of a commercial crew vehicle." This language only inhibits the free-market capitalism that was supposed to replace the shuttle fleet when it was retired in 2011. Private companies are our best hope for an efficient and reliable platform into Low Earth Orbit that cannot be threatened by the politics of the tension with Russia and help return American to leadership. Protect American entrepreneurship and free market enterprise in space.
