Many schools and public areas do not have readily accessible recycling bins leading to millions of tons of recyclable trash added to our landfills. Although sanitation laws are a local issue, it would be beneficial if we could raise awareness about the surprising lack of comprehensive waste management programs in many cities. If local municipalities just provided one recycling bin for every few trash bins, it would be a lot easier for the public to properly dispose of recyclable waste at train stations, parks, schools, malls, sidewalks, etc.
Over 75% of waste is recyclable, but we only recycle about 30% of it. With the proper awareness and a little effort, we can definitely do better!
