urge state governments to abolish "Pledging to the U.S. Flag" requirements in public school systems.

Any non-voluntary pledge of allegiance to a government, as the Pledge of Allegiance is in the state education systems with only minimal exceptions, runs entirely counter to the ideals on which this republic was founded.

This isn't the 1890s, and it definitely isn't the height of the Cold War. The entire practice of the "Pledge of Allegiance" needs to end.
