In wake of recent horrific acts of terrorism, many United States Governors responded in fear by suspending the resettlement of Syrian and Muslim refugees. The Governors are calling for the Department of Homeland Security to review their procedures and have not indicated the longevity of the suspension.
The Syrian refugee crisis is called the largest humanitarian crisis since World War II, with many Syrian refugees fleeing these same terrorists.
A refugee undergoes an in depth screening process that takes on average 2 years with the UN and more than five US Authorities before being admitted to the United States.
We are calling for the United States to continue accepting refugees as we find the screening procedures sufficient and hold compassion and aid to the suffering as American values.
