We ask that the president of the United States of America use appropriate means to urge the government of Sudan to rescind the death penalty against Dr. Mariam Yahya Ibrahim for converting to Christianity. Sudanese courts have ruled that she is subject to death by stoning; however, she has been given 3 days to repent and convert to Islam. Mariam is married to a Christian man, has one child (20 months old), and is 8 months pregnant with her second child.
We also ask that the president offer Dr. Mariam Yahya Ibrahim and her family (husband, child, and baby) political asylum and residence within the United States of America.
The governments of the UK and the EU have condemned the Sudanese court's decision. It's time to stand in unity.
