Dear Mr. President,
Peaceful Turkish citizens in Istanbul and throughout Turkey exercising their fundamental democratic right to protest against the government and its oppression are being systematically trapped and violently attacked by the Turkish Police, under orders of Prime Minister Erdogan, with gas, water, bullets.
As a registered democrat who supported your grassroots movement, I am calling on you to help STOP this madness. The situation in Turkey is a clear violation of democracy and human rights. No elected official has the right to exercise his personal will over the people, and no public office gives anyone the right to use a nation's own people and resources to attack its own civilians. We would not allow this in the US, please do not allow it in Turkey.
