Urge voters to tell their members of Congress to favor a constitutional amendment to extend Fourteenth to private acts

Urge voters to call the members of the Congress who represent their state and ask them to pass a proposal to amend the Constitution to apply sections one and two of the fourteenth amendment to private individuals. This would if passed in three fourths of the states allow the Congress to provide for the punishment of hate crimes where there is no other federal jurisdiction. As it is now the Fourteenth Amendment applies to state action as a result except for a limited number of rights that come from being a citizen of the nation such as voting in federal elections being able to inform federal officials of violations of federal law and the right to petition Congress. paraphrased from US v.
