We urge the White House to boycott the Winter Olympics to be held in Sochi to protest the draconian anti-gay legislation recently signed into law by Putin, that allows Russia to arrest and detain tourists for being openly gay. The law fines people 200,000 rubles ($6,176.00 USD) for “propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations.”
It is considered propaganda for gays to hold hands, kiss, displaying a rainbow flag, etc. There were recent complaints that Elton John stage outfits were illegal under the law.
This is an outrage to LGBT people and those that love and or support them. Boycott the Olympics and let Russians know that sexual discrimination will not be tolerated by a free society.
