After the independence of Bangladesh in 1971 there was commission to find war criminals and 195 Pakistani serving soldiers were suspected but were repatriated to Pakistan under 1973 Simla Act. Then Bangladesh passed 1973 Collaboration Act to try the collaborators and no present Jamat leaders were found guilty. But after 40 years present Awami League govt in Bangladesh want to subdue the opposition party by prosecuting Jamat leaders by handing them harsh sentence including death sentence. Falsification of events and witnesses are rampant in the Tribunal in Bangladesh. There is nothing international about the tribunal except in name. We request Barak Obama to urge the Bangladeshi govt to hand over the case to an impartial UN court.
