U.S. Armed Forces personnel require the assistance of the Command in Chief in order to put their hands in their pockets.

This petition is designed to allow Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines the ability to utilize their uniforms to the fullest extent possible, especially in regards to the placing of hands inside pockets for an unlimited duration. Being able to do so not only ensures that items within the confines of the uniform are kept secure, it is also very comfortable. This added level of comfort will help reduce stress on a taxed, and war weary force. Additionally, this would provide for a significant increase regarding the disposition of professionalism in appearance than what is normally allowed, notably in cold weather climates; placing of the hands inside the pants via the waistband. Gloves alone do not provide an adequate solution to the issue, nor are they always authorized for wear.
