The US Army restriction regarding Locks: appearance and hygiene.

Created by D.S. on September 29, 2016

The reason I'm petitioning for the army acceptance of dreadlocks. At this point in time they claim that it is unsanitary and an hygiene issue. Being that dreadlocks seems to be unclean. However, depending on the person, dreadlocks can be easily manage and professional looking.

The army does not feel this look is professional. People of color that has this hair design does manage to care for their locks perfectly. Otherwise the hair will be overwhelming to manage. As long as the person follow the rules of the army their hair type should not get in the way of any duties.
