U.S. compensates Cameroonian family $1,700 after boy’s death by Samantha Power’s motorcade

Samantha Power's motorcade killed a 7 year old boy and the government of our Great Nation called America could compensate the family of the boy only $1,700! Why are some lives valued more than others or is it because the family doesn't have anyone to fight their case? We as a nation are better than this.
