Many cases exist in which U.S. women and children become victims of crime & terrorism then subsequently victims of government retaliation. Rarely does our system help these victims.
Compounding the issue is that few people look at the facts and quickly jump to conclusions. These victims have actually helped our government fight crime and terrorism yet have not received services or adequate protection under the law.
One victim advocated at her own expense with the Senate. A federal agency believed the case was so mishandled it was "within the purview of the US Department of Justice." To date, real justice has not been served.
