We the people ask the federal government to Propose a new Administration policy:

US Foreign Policy on 2016 DRC Presidential Elections

Created by M.W. on September 20, 2016

This petition is important for US citizens of DR Congo (DRC) origin. The US government and people have been friends of the DRC since the DRC's independence in 1960.

The people of the DRC need a government that speaks on their behalf in national as well as in foreign matters.

The current president of the DRC and his government are disregarding the legally binding pledge they made to respect the Constitution of the country.

This claim is based on the fact that President Kabila and his government have failed in 4 years to present a plan that guarantees that presidential elections are timely held in 2016 as stipulated by the Constitution.

We now need a US foreign policy that supports Kabila's resignation at the end of his constitutional mandate to allow for a constitutional transition.
