U.S. Government should charge host nations for our Armed forces protection. Instead of the U.S. citizen having to pay.

Created by R.D. on January 09, 2013

The U.S. Government will spend about $535 Billion in 2013 on defense according to the C.B.O. estimates. That amounts to about 20% of the overall Federal Budget for 2013. So I propose that to lessen the burden on the taxpayers we charge a fee to host nations to offset some of our massive defense budget. Also for nations that we are in debt to, we should have an amount of our debt to that nation or nations forgiven in exchange for our military presence and protection.
