Ethiopia, one of the key partners of the United States, is a country where Islam and Christianity not just co-exist but thrive to build a better nation.
Sadly, Ethiopia also has fringe elements that have decided to use the challenges of a nascent democracy and the emergence of a multi-ethnic coalition government, to stroke tribalism and ethnic hatred.
We must reject these extremists, many of whom call the U.S. their home, but are using it as a safe haven to promote ethnic strife and religious radicalization in Ethiopia.
Their hate speech – designed to destabilize Ethiopia using narrow self-interest and religious radicalization BUT concealed from Americans through the use of local languages – must be exposed and condemned.
The US must take legal action against these instigators now
