The U.S. is the only developed who has not implemented any sort of paid family leave. Paid family leave includes taking time off to care of an ill family member, postpartum recovery time, and personal sick days. There needs to be a priority on this issue in our government and push them towards enacting a federal law that requires every state to have paid family leave. Today about 43 million workers about 39% in America have no opportunity for sick paid leave.
Because in today’s economy it is necessary for both parents to be a in the workforce, new mothers are forced to go back to work as soon as they are able to walk due to financial issues.
Men and women are forced to go to work even when they are sick, barfing, and sneezing. This is harmful to other workers and the customers.
