US Servicemen and women given the right to carry side arm while in uniform on and off post

With the threat of ISIS and other Terror Groups in the US Homeland and mass shootings on post/base all service members should be given the right to protect themselves and other service members. Any service member that can legally get in to the US Military and pass a pistol qualification course should be allowed to carry a sidearm of their choosing while in uniform on and off post. This does NOT mean the Military becomes or acts as Law Enforcement. It merely allows Members of the US Military the right to protect their life while in uniform and during the duty day. All weapons will continue to be registered on post via the Provost Marshal's Office and a 6 month recurring proficiency qualification course is mandatory.
