Dear President Obama,
We write to you as concerned American citizens regarding Taiwan’s future in the international political and economic community.
Taiwan’s strategic position is important and unique and Taiwan has long been a faithful ally of the United States. We, therefore, cannot allow Taiwan to become a second Crimea. We, the United States, should take immediate action to show our continued commitment and friendship with Taiwan.
The United States should propose trade agreements with Taiwan and assist Taiwan in their negotiations with other Trans-Pacific Partnership countries. Taiwan needs to connect to China through the global community, instead of connecting to the global community through China. The U.S. can help Taiwan achieve this goal.
Sincerely,
Part of the Free World
