The US should stop all development of nuclear weapons and accelerate the retirement of existing bombs

In the interests of national security and financial management of the US Government we can retire the existing nuclear weapons arsenals. There is no evidence that these weapons created more security in the past and certainly not now. We will be spending upwards of $700 Billion over the next ten years to upgrade existing arsenals while retiring old arsenals. Retiring all of our nuclear weapons would enhance security and help the President and Congress balance our Federal Budget.
