Use all savings from reduced military spending to retool weapons manufacturing for alternate energy production.

Created by K.M. on January 12, 2013

The U.S. government spends more on military spending than all other countries combined. The difficulty in reducing military spending is the power of weapons manufacturing lobbies and the number of workers employed in the industry. If the government chose to spend reductions in military spending on retooling weapons manufacturers, as they did after World War II, both of those difficulties would be reduced.
And what better way to secure and prosper our country than to retool for sustainable, non-carbon alternate enegry research and production. We could be the world leaders in reversing global warming. We could be energy independent. And we could grow science, engineering, manufacturing and maintenance jobs.
