Use the "Bully Pulpit" to repeatedly admonish the U.S. House and Senate to submit only "clean bills" for consideration.

Created by B.H. on January 04, 2013

Many bills originating in either house of Congress have extraneous "pork barrel" attachments to them. These are included as enticements to reluctant members to secure their votes or added by powerful members to "bring home the pork" to their respective constituencies. Congress must try to keep things simple and move toward legislation that does not have add on and tacked on bonuses that escape public scrutiny. Let us put pressure on our national legislators to produce legislation that is clear cut, simple, focused and easily understandable by all - and to the maximum extent possible addresses a single issue. The administration, in the interest of applying sunshine to governmental processes, must take the lead in pointing out and enumerating legislative abuses.
