Utilize current consumer protection laws to force gun manufacturers to develop smart guns (guns that can only be operated by their lawful owner). Utilizing RFID chips, fingerprint technology, magnetic encoding, or similar devise that positively matches gun to lawful owner. Furthermore sponsor businesses that develop retro fit kits to go on current guns that do not have such technology.
It is time common sense showed up to the gun control debate; and real solutions were sought that both made the public realistically safer; and did not infringe on the second amendment.
