From a recent high point of over $100 a barrel during June of 2014 and even in 2008 before that, oil is a precious commodity and when a favorable situation comes along it doesn't last as we've learned after oil bottomed out during the depths of the financial crisis. It has & always will rebound at some point with an even higher peak then the last, thus making todays rare but very ideal situation very favorable and in need of action. The S.P.R. was commissioned with the need of security and a cushion so-to-speak to protect our country from a sudden supply disruption or embargo similar to the one in the 70's. I've created this petition to ask you Mr. President to please use these very low oil prices to fill/top off the Strategic Petroleum Reserve while prices are low during this unique time!
