The Centre for Scholarly Exchange of the Minstry of Education of China (教育部留学服务中心)should be stripped off from its function of authenticating Chinese students' academic degrees obtained from other nations for the following reasons.
1. Chinese students who wish to study in the U.S do not need any authentication from any U.S institution besides the official translation for their previous academic certificate. Thus, by asking Amercian degree holders to get their degree "VERIFIED" by this Centre, which will always take months, is not logic. It may risk damping Chinese students' interest in coming to U.S to study in the first place.
2. This agency does not have relation with academia and is just an affilated agency of the Chinese MoE, thus, the validity of its authantication is questionable
