Uganda's parliament recently passed legislation that would criminalize LGBT behavior with a maximum sentence of life in prison. The United States should put pressure on the Ugandan government to keep this law from taking effect. If the law does take effect we should be prepared to enact sanctions and other diplomatic measures.
