The Obama administration has set precedent by already utilizing drone strikes to assassinate American citizens without due process, such as in the case of Anwar al-Awlaki. Moreover, there are other anti-democratic actions and policies in place, such as the recent complicity in the DNC's collusion with the Clinton campaign in voter suppression, the existence of the NSA surveillance apparatus to mainly spy on Muslim dissidents, the militarized police state in poor, black neighborhoods, etc. Obviously some of these problems are not under the direct purview of the executive office -- except in the case of drone strike assassinations. If al-Awlaki is considered a threat to the republic, then surely so is a literal fascist. I only ask we be consistent in our lack of democracy.
