On 3/19 during a public meeting, students, exercising their freedom to protest and speak out against drastic tuition increases, crippling student debt were ignored, scoweled at and had their message referred to as "crap" by the president of their institution. These students, the state of California, federal financial aid dollars and other federal money through grants pay 100% of her salary, provides her with a free mansion and car expenses. Her apology was a backhanded, unfeeling second slap in the face and was obviously coming from a place of being sorry for being heard on mic as opposed to being sorry for the sentiment, tone and ignorance of her comment.
