Salaried employees may work as many as 60 hours, meaning a lot of time they could be with families. Those making over $23,660 may not receive overtime.
President Obama could raise the overtime threshold to with no prior congressional approval since the overtime threshold is set through the Department of Labor’s existing regulatory authority.
Additional financial compensation to a class of employees that would likely spend a large percentage would stimulate economic growth.
