The New York Times recently revealed that the NSA is collecting far more than just phone call meta-data as expressed to the public last December. Which in itself was determined to be illegal by five of the most respected legal and privacy experts in the country comprising the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board. Recent revelations in the Times suggest that popular social media services, all major web browser services, text messages and even the contents of the cell phones may have been captured and stored.
There is as much misleading information as there are apparent truths. The public has a right to know what has been collected from them and how it will be used. Let's get this behind us with an Independent Investigation. President Obama, please lead the way here.
