In 1994, Congress eliminated federal and government funding into studies and research on guns and injuries caused by them.[1] To quote Mark Rosenberg, who has helped to create the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control, " '[...] there's two injuries that are the leading cause of death in the U.S. right now: cars and guns.' [...] 'We spend hundreds of millions on cars, we spend nothing on guns.' "[2]
This petition is to have the POTUS give authority to the CDC to conduct a study on what the effects of guns are on citizens in the United States of America.
