The research is undeniable: The U.S. federal government creates more low wage jobs than McDonald's and Wal-Mart combined! (See http://goodjobsnation.org/read-the-research/) This is unacceptable! Examples of abuse include:
Demos found that two million private sector employees working on behalf of America earn wages too low to support a family, making $12 or less per hour.
The National Employment Law Project (NELP) found that nearly 74 percent earned less than $10 an hour, 26 percent reported receiving paid sick days, and only 11 percent received employer-provided health insurance.
President Obama needs to stand by his promise to raise wages and his goal of health insurance for all (as seen in the ACA). His administration should set an example via executive order.
