use an executive order to require all 50 states to recognize same-sex marriage

Created by J.S. on January 16, 2015

The president's job is to faithfully execute the law and the Constitution. The 14th Amendment requires that all citizens be treated equally. Therefore, it would be unconstitutional for a state to deny same-sex couples the right to marry. The president has a duty to right this wrong. He can and should do so with an executive order that would make all fifty states recognize same-sex marriage on a state level.
