Use executive powers to force the Legislative Branch (Congress) to take a pay cut to minimum wage levels ($7.25/hr).

Of 534 current members of Congress, at least 268 (50%) had an average net worth of $1 million or more in 2012, according to disclosures filed last year (2013) by all members of Congress. However, only 4% of the American people at large hold such status.
As such, it is evident that the Congress of the United States is no longer representative of the people, but are an elite institution unto themselves. Congressional salaries now stand at $174,000, up from $141,300 in 2000. The average American hasn't seen this kind of pay raise and it is an insult to millions of hardworking people that Congress is immune to the challenges associated with the cost of living.
Members of Congress should take on a minimum wage of $7.25/hr for services rendered to the country while Congress is in session.
