International graduates who have obtained advanced degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) from US institutions are currently stuck with unavailability of H1-B visas in order to be able to work for their US employers. Over the past few years that H1-B visas have been subject to random selections, several unlucky international STEM graduates were forced to leave the country causing their employers to suffer financially.
Most of these foreign students have been supported by funds and scholarships during their studies in the US. It is a win for other countries such as Canada if these graduates are not able to maintain lawful status in the United States. By this petition we urge the Obama administration to provide unlimited H1-B visas for our STEM graduates for FY 2017.
