use federal procurement regulations to control firearms.

Created by M.P. on December 16, 2012

This petition requests the U.S. government to only purchase firearms from gun makers who agree to control their product's distribution.

The federal government is the largest purchaser of firearms in the world. Government agencies buy guns in bulk for park rangers, Postal Inspectors, DEA agents, soldiers, IRS agents, EPA agents, FBI agents, and spies.

Stated simply, the U.S. government buys guns from the same people who make them for bad people to use. The federal government should use their purchasing power as the largest buyer of firearms to reward "good behavior" by gun makers. Firearm producers who do not comply should not be able to sell weapons to federal agencies.
