Use green energy instead of depending on foreign oil

We need to depends on ourselves for our enegry instead of relying on foreign oil. By developing our current "green" techonologies, like wind and solar, we can begin to withdraw from foreign oil, or even from oil use. I propose the U.S government gives more funding to projects developing these "green" technologies, instead of giving senators and representatives pay raises.
