Haiti has long suffered from a brain drain leaving the country without the needed human resources to address its needs and secure a decent future for its people. The United States has thousands, if not tens of thousands, of Haitian American retirees in all fields who can rapidly help Haiti develop the human resources needed for better self management and development.
The US Treasury has 1 $ billion allocated but not yet disbursed for reconstruction of Haiti. 25% of that amount should be allocated to recruit and support Haitian American retirees who can teach and train Haitians in all fields, from administration to zoology and finance the construction of modern educational facilities.
Haitian American retirees can be one of the keys in Building Back Better in Haiti.
