To use his authority as Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces to release the 86 cleared prisoners at Guantanamo Bay.

Created by R.R. on July 23, 2013

The President of the United States is the Commander in Chief of the armed forces. He has the authority to order the immediate release of the 86 Guantanamo Bay prisoners who have been cleared by a committee of national security officials. He also has the authority to transfer the remaining prisoners to the United States to be held in a federal maximum security prison and to be tried in federal court. This would fulfill his promise and his signed executive order he issued when he became president in 2009. We cannot keep tarnishing this nation's legacy by keeping Guantanamo open and succumbing to politically motivated fear mongering.
