In order to save the national economy from the problems of long-term government deficit and possible economic collapse due to exaggerated spending cuts, more tax revenue is needed.
As the system currently stands, the top 26 US corporations pay virtually no taxes to the federal government. In the meantime, middle class Americans bear large burdens while the rich continue to prosper from bonuses and tax breaks.
With spending for Social Security and Medicaid continuing as it currently is, the burden on the average taxpayer will only grow as corporations continue to maintain huge wealth for their own personal greed.
