To use the moral authority of his office and ask Catholic schools all across the country to stop firing gay teachers.

Brian Panetta, the gay band director at St. Mary Central Catholic high school, Sandusky, Ohio was fired after the school became aware of his wedding plans. Brian was a popular, much loved teacher and the students are mourning his loss. He was not allowed to even say goodbye to his students. Students, parents and alumni members attempted to get Brian rehired, but the school quickly replaced the band director. Catholic schools are using a contract that is not being enforced consistently: Some violations are ignored: divorce, contraception, adultery,etc ... but when a gay teacher is fired the schools always refer to this so-called contract. We urge the President to use the moral authority of his office to urge Catholic schools all across the country to stop this injustice, this discrimination
