I propose that we use some of our military assets to help the refugees coming from Northern Africa and the Middle East. We could send one of our Navy Mercy ships to the Mediterranean. We could use drones to look for boats in distress. We could use our transport planes to fly the refugees to the countries that are willing to take them. This would help alleviate some of the issues with the Dublin regulation as well. Countries such as Germany and Iceland have agreed to take in refugees, but people are dying and suffering as they try to make the journey. As a result of this our military will be helping to avert a humanitarian crisis AND will be getting hands on training and experience. Furthermore, this will show the world that the U.S. and it's military are forces for good.
