Use a petition site to allow citizens to introduce federal legislation

Created by G.P. on November 05, 2011

Allowing individual citizens, with the support of many others, to introduce federal legislation would protect the rights of infringed groups and ensure that they would be able to introduce the legislation that our representatives do not have the courage to do. We the People want the creation of a petition site or process that would allow the introduction of legislation by us to protect our interests. Ballot initiatives are allowed at a state level in order to protect the wishes of the people; it is time to do so on the national level. The legislative initiatives should require a high level of support, similar to those at a state level. These laws should be voted upon in federal elections and ruled upon by the Supreme Court to determine their constitutionality.
