Use President Obama's farewell address to call for an end to the Electoral College system.

Created by A.T. on October 29, 2015

The Electoral College system has become more and more obsolete since the nation's founding. Though it is unlikely that this issue will come to the national stage within the next decade, President Obama could hasten a reform of our electoral system by even just mentioning the topic in his farewell address.

The people deserve the right to direct democracy.

It seems so backwards that during this age of incredible technological advancement and cultural globalization we still can't manage to collect and tally everyone's individual vote for the President of the United States. The whole voting system could and should be reformed and simplified. This would also lead to more transparent electoral campaigns nationwide, and end systemic disenfranchisement of people confused by the bureaucracy.
