Use the President's capacity as Commander in Chief to order the National Guard to protect the protestors of Ferguson.

Created by H.S. on November 17, 2014

The police force of Ferguson Missouri and Saint Louis county have proven themselves cold to the suffering of the people they are sworn to protect. The actions of the department following the shooting of Michael Brown and their reaction to the subsequent protests revealed that they consider the brutalization of the city's people justified, and that they do not see the grievances of the community as legitimate.

In preemptively calling out the National Guard in anticipation of the grand jury decision on the indictment of Darren Wilson, Governor Jay Nixon has clearly revealed his expectation that fury over police impunity will erupt into violence. President Obama, please use your authority as Commander in Chief to protect the citizens from perpetrators of systemic violence, the police.
