Use the President's Recess Appointment Power to Fill the SCOTUS Vacancy

Created by D.N. on February 14, 2016

Given the publicly declared intent of the Republican-controlled Senate to abdicate their Constitutional responsibility of voting on a SCOTUS nominee, which is representative of that party's ongoing political obstructionism, and given that such obstructionism harms our national interest, we petition President Obama to fulfill fully his own Constitutional obligation: please exercise your authority under Article II, Section 2, explicitly granted, to make a recess appointment to SCOTUS. If the Senate will not do its part under the Constitution, please uphold the Constitution despite them and use your office's powers to keep our government working.
