Use some funding from SSDI to create a financial incentive for companies to hire and accommodate disabled workers

Created by N.P. on February 27, 2012

The benefits of gainful employment far exceed those of getting a social security check. Focusing on work from home positions, flexible part time scheduling, and attendance tracking that does not penalize for doctors appointments would benefit the economy by keeping more Americans off of SSDI. The lives of the disabled would be improved. The socialization, goals, and team work in the work place can help avoid depression and maintain mental functioning.

SSDI as we know it does not have an incentive for maintaining employment of any kind. While retraining it is not available to all. Lastly, those not receiving unemployment there is no source for helping us find gainful employment without income or education restrictions. We want work not a check for staying home.
